Another concept song about prejudice. The idea came to me when a friend told me about a dream he had, where him and his loved one lived in a village where everyone around them were against their orientation, and eventually separated the two by force and hung one of them while the other watched. A scenario that has mostly likely been played through several times in the history of the world.
lyrics
Do you have anything to say for yourself?
There's no excuse for what you have done here.
Did you ever think what this might do to me?
You can't comprehend my reaction.
The significance, the deliverance.
the connection that's embedded within me
(Chorus)
Your prejudice has left my trust in chains.
Remember when we lifted the boundary?
You manifest and leave my heart to bleed.
Can't justify the reason for destroying me.
Can you explain to me what we did wrong?
It's not like we committed a murder.
How would you even feel if this had happened to you.
What if I held her mouth shut and slit her throat?
You're delusional, hypocritical.
You will try, but you won't take him from me.
Why couldn't you just leave us alone?
We never messed with you, now look what you've done!
